Israeli strikes on Lebanon kill at least 19 as clashes with Hezbollah continue despite ceasefire

Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Tuesday resulted in at least 19 deaths, including women and children, according to Lebanon's health ministry. One strike on Deir Qanoun al Nahr killed 10 people, while others in Nabatieh and Kfar Sir claimed additional lives. These attacks are part of ongoing near-daily clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, which have continued despite a US-brokered ceasefire. Israel's military stated it targeted over 25 Hezbollah infrastructure sites between Monday and Tuesday. The conflict, which began on March 2nd, has led to significant displacement in Lebanon and casualties on both sides, with Israel reporting one soldier killed on Tuesday.

Lebanon's Health Ministry reported that at least 22 people were killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours, despite a 45-day ceasefire extension. These attacks have contributed to a total death toll of 3,042 since fighting resumed between Israel and Hezbollah on March 2. Incidents included an Israeli airstrike on a home in Kfar Sir, killing four, and drone attacks in Harouf and Froun, resulting in further fatalities. The Lebanese army also reported the use of incendiary phosphorus bombs by Israeli forces near farmers in al-Mansouri. Additionally, Israeli forces reportedly set up a checkpoint and detained three Lebanese nationals.

Russian attacks across Ukraine have resulted in at least three deaths and 17 injuries. In the Donetsk region, 19 attacks over the past 24 hours killed two people and wounded four, damaging numerous residential buildings and an infrastructure facility. Fighting in Donetsk also led to the evacuation of over 800 people, including children. A separate drone attack in the Sumy region killed one woman in her home. In Odesa, civilian infrastructure, including a hospital, was hit, causing significant damage and two injuries. These attacks occurred amid stalled peace talks.

Israeli forces have advanced further into western Gaza, expanding their control and resulting in the deaths of at least four Palestinians. Medics and local health officials reported one person killed in an air attack near al-Mughraq, two by gunfire and shelling near Gaza City, and a woman shot dead by Israeli forces in Khan Younis. These attacks occurred despite a ceasefire agreed upon last October. The Israeli military claimed to have killed several Hamas fighters, while a reporter from Gaza City noted daily air strikes and drone activity. Israeli forces are expanding a demarcated area, referred to as the "Yellow Line," which divides Palestinian territory and restricts movement, with individuals crossing these markers reportedly being shot.
