Moment Western Australian divers surface to see their boat had disappeared caught in footage

Two divers, Ryan Chapman and a friend, were stranded off the coast of Mindarie, Western Australia, after their boat drifted away while they were diving. The incident occurred when the boat's anchor knot was improperly tied, causing it to detach in windy conditions. Upon surfacing, the divers discovered their boat was missing and initially searched for it, believing it had sunk. After about 90 minutes, they were rescued by another boat, whose occupants had noticed the unmanned vessel drifting. The divers located their boat two kilometers away, re-anchored it, and resumed diving, implementing a buddy system with one person remaining on board. Chapman released GoPro footage of the incident to highlight diving safety and emphasize the importance of proper anchorage and having a designated person on deck.
