Ghanaian winger Dominic Frimpong killed at age of 20 in attack on team bus
Ghanaian footballer Dominic Frimpong, a 20-year-old winger for Berekum Chelsea, died in an armed robbery on the team bus Sunday. The attack occurred as the team returned from a Ghana Premier League match against Samartex. Six masked gunmen blocked the road and opened fire on the bus, fatally wounding Frimpong in the head as players and staff fled. The Ghana Football Association expressed shock and sorrow at the death of the promising young player, who had recently joined Berekum Chelsea on loan. Police have deployed personnel to the area and are investigating the incident, which is not the first attack on a football team in Ghana.
