In U-turn, UK police say Palestine Action protesters will be arrested again
The London Metropolitan Police reversed its recent policy and announced it will again arrest individuals showing support for Palestine Action. This decision comes after the High Court allowed the government to appeal its ruling that the ban on Palestine Action was unlawful. In February, the police had stated they would refrain from arresting supporters following the initial High Court ruling. However, authorities now state that supporting Palestine Action remains a criminal offense until the government's appeal is considered, potentially taking months. The Labour-led government initially proscribed Palestine Action in June under anti-terrorism legislation, placing it in the same legal category as groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS.
