White House construction project to cost almost $1bn

He also said approximately $400m in funding for the new ballroom was coming from “President Trump and generous American patriots”.About $875m has been put into the White House Repair and Restoration account, which typically has only several million dollars and is used for routine maintenance and upkeep. Some $500m of that money came from the Secret Service and the White House Military Office, tasked with securing the president and his family, as well as top US officials. Another $305m, according to The Post, came from private donations, while the provenance of another $70m was not indicated.
