Pet owner barred from leaving Hong Kong pending trial over his dog’s fatal attacks

A 52-year-old Hong Kong man, Ng Shui-ting, has been barred from leaving the territory pending trial. He faces two charges from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department related to his 60kg dog. The charges allege he failed to properly control the dog on two occasions, July 10 and August 17, at Yoho Mall. Specifically, he is accused of not keeping the dog securely restrained on a leash no longer than two metres, which allegedly allowed it to enter and remain in an open area. These incidents resulted in two smaller pets being killed and a third being injured.
