Hong Kong and Shenzhen test crossings at revamped Huanggang Port ahead of opening

Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities conducted a test of clearance procedures and private car access at the revamped Huanggang border crossing. This drill, held on Saturday, was a precursor to a larger exercise scheduled for the following week. The upcoming exercise will involve 20,000 people to fully assess the facility's capacity. Hong Kong's No. 2 official, Eric Chan Kwok-ki, stated that the Saturday drill proceeded smoothly with orderly passenger flows and efficient public transport pick-ups. However, a motorist association reported traffic congestion near the San Tin Interchange roundabout leading to the crossing. Chan indicated that further tests simulating peak passenger and traffic flow will be conducted to ensure smooth operations.
