Hong Kong to revamp senior secondary science and maths curriculum from 2029-30

Hong Kong's Education Bureau will revamp the senior secondary science and extended mathematics curriculum starting in the 2029-30 academic year. This initiative aims to attract more students and cultivate talent in STEM fields by introducing additional syllabus options. Schools are also being encouraged to promote the study of two or more science subjects among interested students to foster a synergistic learning effect. The Education Bureau stated that this curriculum overhaul aligns with China's national strategy to strengthen the country through science and education and supports Hong Kong's development as a global innovation and technology hub.
