Student admits forging reference letter for PhD place at Education University

A 31-year-old student from mainland China, Li Zuer, has pleaded guilty to obtaining services by deception in Fanling Court. She admitted to forging a reference letter to gain admission to a doctoral program at the Education University of Hong Kong. Li commissioned an agent in Shenzhen to alter a reference letter, which she then falsely claimed was submitted by a former staff member of the university. This action was taken after she had repeatedly failed to secure a place in the program. The court heard the details on Monday.
