The alleged attacker, who is known to the victims, came to an address in the Gippsland town of Tyers at about 12.30pm on Saturday, according to a spokesperson for Victoria-police" class="entity-link entity-organization" data-entity-id="144887" data-entity-type="organization">Victoria police. He is believed to have attacked an elderly man and woman, and a third person with an axe, causing serious injuries. The man, who is in his 50s, fled the address and the victims were able to call emergency services for help, police said. A specialist air ambulance and road paramedics were dispatched to the scene and all three victims were treated at the scene.
