Video captures grocery store manager's daring rescue of toddler who ran into oncoming traffic

A supermarket manager in Mexico leaped into action Sunday, diving into the road to save a three-year-old girl from oncoming traffic, security footage shows. Luis Cruz, a manager at the Super King El Rey del Ahorro grocery store, sprinted after the girl who had wandered into the busy road and grabbed her while diving to the ground moments before she would have been hit by a silver minivan. The girl had run out of the Puebla, Mexico , supermarket around 2 p.m. local time after slipping out of her mother’s grip, according to Mexican news outlet Tribuna Noticias. The girl was initially chased by a woman, but the woman slipped and fell before she could grab the child. The grocery store, according to Tribuna Noticias, awarded Cruz with 20,000 Mexican pesos – roughly $1,184 – for his heroics.
