Singapore and mainland China top global student assessment as OECD scores hit record low

In 2025, Singaporean and Chinese students achieved the highest global educational performance according to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) Programme for International Student Assessment. This triennial survey, the largest since its inception in 2000, involved 760,000 15-year-old students from 91 countries and economies, including OECD members and partners. Concurrently, average scores among OECD countries reached a record low. The assessment evaluated student performance across participating nations.
