Knife attack in China’s Guangzhou leaves multiple people injured

Police in Guangzhou said on Monday they had apprehended a man in the southern Chinese city’s university town district after receiving reports that he was wielding a knife and injuring pedestrians.Emergency services started receiving calls around 5.20pm local time about multiple stabbings in front of a hotpot restaurant in the Xiaoguwei Island area of Panyu district, according to an alert sent out by the district branch of the Guangzhou-municipal-public-security-bureau" class="entity-link entity-organization" data-entity-id="204161" data-entity-type="organization">Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau.The bureau said in a social media post that police promptly arrived and the injured individuals were sent to hospital, with none in life-threatening condition after treatment.
