‘Provocation’ could accelerate Taiwan reunification, retired PLA major general says

Retired PLA major general Luo Yuan stated that the timeline for Taiwan's reunification with mainland China depends on several factors, including the island's level of provocation. Speaking at the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing on Wednesday, Luo warned that Taiwan's leader had challenged Beijing's red lines. He explained that reunification progress is shaped by China's national strength, defense needs, the global security environment, and the degree of provocation from Taiwan. Luo's comments were made to the South China Morning Post.
