Hong Kong to legislate against persistent child sexual abuse and ‘cyberflashing’

Hong Kong authorities plan to introduce new legislation targeting persistent child sexual abuse and the non-consensual online distribution of genital images. The Security Bureau announced this intention following a public consultation, as detailed in a report released on Thursday. The city's two professional legal associations have broadly supported a dedicated law for persistent child sexual abuse. Consequently, the government will incorporate this offense into an amendment bill that revises existing sex offense laws. This move aims to address these specific forms of sexual misconduct within Hong Kong.
