Multiple people, including children, were injured in a Thursday shooting at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, police confirmed during a press conference.The suspected gunman is dead, according to Bend police spokesperson Sheila Miller.On Thursday afternoon, police responded to reports of an active shooting at the Silver Rail elementary school.A shot was reportedly fired into a car around 12:59pm, Miller said.Police arrived on scene at about 1:02pm. Moments later, they learned the suspected assailant had been shot and killed in the school. It is unclear by whom.The shooter’s identity also remains unknown.At least two people have been hospitalized.The full scope of victims and their statuses was not immediately clear, police said. Authorities also did not confirm the victims’ identities or ages, but said children were among the victims.Emergency officials were working to evacuate the elementary school room by room.Oregon’s governor, Tina Kotek, said on social media she was monitoring the situation.
