Ukrainian forces continue to experience disruptions to the Starlink satellite network, which affects their key communications system, despite US President Donald Trump's claim that Elon Musk has lifted restrictions on the service. The slowdown began last week after Trump and Musk publicly criticized Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, over continued strikes on Russian oil refineries. Ukrainian officials say speeds remain capped at about 100mph, with no indication of restrictions being lifted. Serhii Beskrestnov, a military expert advising Zelenskyy, attributed the isolated cases of higher speeds to SpaceX's algorithms or specific conditions of use. The speed restrictions have hampered offensive drone operations and efforts to intercept incoming Russian attacks. Trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US are expected to resume in Abu Dhabi in November.
Russia launched another overnight barrage against Ukraine, even as Moscow said a fresh round of US-brokered talks aimed at ending the war could take place next month.
