London nursery worker who sexually abused children jailed for 18 years

Vincent Chan, a former nursery worker from Finchley in north London, has been jailed for 18 years for abusing young children while in his care. Chan pleaded guilty to 56 charges of physical sexual abuse, taking obscene photos and creating child pornography, as well as setting up cameras to watch women changing or going to the toilet. He also sexually assaulted a woman while she was asleep. Chan worked at a school from 2007 for nearly a decade, where he engaged in upskirting pupils, before working at a nursery for nearly seven years, where he filmed himself abusing four young children. The abuse occurred between 2013 and 2021 at a Bright Horizons branch in West Hampstead. Chan's victims include children too young to write their own statements, whose pain was evident in the statements made on their behalf by their parents.
