All nine bodies of skiers killed in California avalanche recovered

Following a deadly avalanche in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe, California, the bodies of all nine missing skiers have been recovered. The avalanche, one of the deadliest in recent history, occurred on Tuesday and prompted a five-day search and rescue operation. Six survivors were rescued earlier in the week, while the deceased include six women and three professional guides from Blackbird Mountain Company: Andrew Alissandratos, Nicole Choo, and Michael Henry. Over 40 rescuers from various local and federal agencies, including the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol, participated in the recovery efforts, which were hampered by difficult weather conditions. The recovery operation concluded on Saturday with the aid of a Black Hawk helicopter.
