Israeli rockets kill 12 healthcare workers in southern Lebanon

An Israeli rocket strike on a medical center in Burj Qalaouiyah, southern Lebanon, killed 12 healthcare workers on Friday night, bringing the total number of medical staff killed by Israel in Lebanon to 31 in the past 12 days. The Lebanese Ministry of Health condemned the attack, stating it violated international humanitarian law. Since hostilities began on March 2, triggered by Hezbollah rocket fire into Israel and subsequent Israeli bombing campaigns, Lebanese authorities report at least 37 attacks by Israel against healthcare workers and facilities. An Israeli military spokesperson accused Hezbollah of using ambulances and medical facilities for military purposes, a claim denied by the Lebanese Ministry of Health. At least 826 people have been killed in Lebanon by Israeli strikes, and about 1 million have been displaced.
