Survivor Recounts Moment He Caught Fire in Swiss Bar

Noa Bersier, a 20-year-old, recounts his experience surviving a fire at Le Constellation bar in Switzerland shortly after midnight on Thursday, January 2, 2026. Bersier was at the bar with friends when a fire erupted on the ceiling, quickly spreading and causing panic as patrons rushed for the stairs, the only known exit. He recalls feeling intense heat and seeing his skin burning, despite not seeing flames nearby initially. After escaping the bar, he realized he had burns on his hands, face, back, and leg. He was driven to a hospital in Sion and is currently receiving treatment. Bersier considers himself fortunate to have survived the tragedy, especially compared to those who did not.
