Seven people were arrested in Lakenheath, Suffolk, on Sunday morning on suspicion of supporting the banned group Palestine Action during a protest at RAF Lakenheath. The protest, organized by Lakenheath Alliance for Peace, involved a peace encampment and blockade outside the airbase's main gate, reportedly triggered by media reports that a US fighter jet involved in an incident in Iran had taken off from the base. The protesters wore tabards expressing support for Palestine Action. Two additional individuals were arrested and charged with obstructing a highway on Saturday. While the High Court ruled the government's ban on Palestine Action unlawful in February, it remains proscribed pending a Home Office appeal. Since the group's proscription last summer, over 2,700 people have been arrested for supporting Palestine Action.
