Air New Zealand invites economy passengers to join mile-high sleep club in world first

Air New Zealand will soon offer economy and premium economy passengers the opportunity to book four-hour sessions in "Skynest" sleep pods, beginning in November. These lie-flat beds, located on the airline's new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, aim to provide a more comfortable sleep experience on long-haul flights. The Skynest consists of triple-tier bunk beds where passengers will be required to wear special socks. While sharing the space with other travelers, rules prohibit crumbs, strong perfumes, and bed-sharing. This initiative marks the first lie-flat bed option for budget travelers seeking rest during flights.
