Hong Kong charity breeding Labrador with golden retriever to boost guide dog supply

A Hong Kong charity is breeding a Labrador with a golden retriever to increase the supply of guide dogs for the blind. The goal is to address the shortage, as only 10% of applicants are currently ready for immediate pairing. This litter marks the charity's third local breeding initiative, following previous efforts to breed purebred Labradors and labradoodles. The charity's guide dog training school in Ta Kwu Ling has been operating since late 2022. The new "goldadors" will help fill the gap between demand and supply. The charity aims to boost the number of canines available for those who need them, despite still lagging behind demand.
