Chinese university student charged with illegally taking photos of US military planes

A Chinese university student, Tianrui Liang, has been charged with illegally taking photos of US military planes during a road trip through several states. Liang, 21, was studying in Glasgow and attempted to return to Scotland via New York's John F Kennedy International Airport on April 7. He was arrested at the airport and subsequently charged with photographing defence installations without authorisation, which is prohibited under US law. The incident occurred during a stop at an air force base in South Dakota. Liang's actions are believed to have taken place while he was visiting the United States. The charges stem from his attempt to capture images of US military aircraft.
