The Onion signs new deal to take over Alex Jones’ Infowars

The Onion has signed a new deal to take over Infowars from conspiracy peddler Alex Jones. Under the agreement, The Onion will license Infowars' website and intellectual property from Gregory Milligan, the court-appointed manager of the site since August 2025, for $81,000 per month for six months. This is a change from Global Tetrahedron's initial plan to purchase the site's assets for $1.75 million in a 2024 auction. The new agreement was submitted to Texas state Judge Maya Guerra Gamble on Monday and covers licensing rights, rent, utilities, and other costs associated with Infowars' studios. The deal is renewable for six more months after that. This move marks a significant shift in the ownership of Infowars, a site known for promoting conspiracy theories.
