China unveils Hanyuan-2, the world’s first dual-core quantum computer

China has unveiled Hanyuan-2, the world's first dual-core quantum computer. This development, reported by the state-owned Science and Technology Daily, signifies a new stage for Chinese quantum computing technology. The Hanyuan-2 utilizes neutral atoms, a design choice that reportedly enhances efficiency and reduces energy consumption compared to other quantum computers. This approach also makes the machine easier to maintain, as it does not require operation at temperatures near absolute zero. The dual-core architecture is expected to significantly boost the computer's performance.
