Tourist arrivals up 10% year on year in April, driven by Hong Kong Sevens

Hong Kong experienced a 10% year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals in April, welcoming 4.21 million visitors. This growth was significantly boosted by the annual Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament. For the first four months of the year, total visitor numbers reached 18.52 million, marking a 15% increase compared to the previous year. While mainland Chinese visitors constituted the majority, non-mainland tourist arrivals also saw a substantial rise of 8% year-on-year, reaching 1.11 million in April. The Tourism Board announced these figures on Friday.
