Students can play role in US-China ties, Xi says in letter to Hong Kong student

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to a university student in Hong Kong, emphasizing the role of young people in US-China relations. The letter was addressed to Liu Runjie, a fourth-year undergraduate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Liu and other students had shared their experiences in a China-US youth friendship program with President Xi. In his reply, Xi expressed appreciation for the friendships developed between Chinese and American youth through the program. He stated that young people from both countries should continue to contribute to cultural exchanges and mutual understanding. The university announced receiving the letter on Friday.
