Hong Kong’s John Lee on Central Asia mission to explore new markets, expand ties

Hong Kong leader John Lee has embarked on a five-day official visit to Central Asia, accompanied by his largest delegation to date. The primary objectives of this mission are to explore new markets amidst geopolitical uncertainties and to facilitate the "going global" efforts of mainland Chinese companies. During the visit to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, numerous memorandums of understanding (MOUs) are anticipated to be signed between representatives from various sectors and their Central Asian counterparts. A notable potential agreement involves tungsten miner Jiaxin International Resources and Kazakhstan's industry ministry, following the company's dual listing on both Hong Kong and Kazakhstan stock exchanges last year.
