Asia’s marine pledges face credibility test at global ocean conference

Asian governments have made numerous promises to protect their marine environments. These commitments will be scrutinized at the upcoming 11th annual Our Ocean Conference in Mombasa, Kenya, from June 16 to 18. This conference serves as a significant platform for global ocean diplomacy, where nations and organizations announce new pledges for marine protection, pollution reduction, fisheries management, and climate finance. Progress on previous commitments is also expected to be reviewed through annual reporting.
