Can 150kg drones carry cement and bricks? Hong Kong is putting them to the test

Hong Kong's Development Bureau is initiating a 12-month trial to assess the capabilities of heavy-duty drones. These drones, each weighing approximately 150kg, will be tested at up to six sites. The bureau is collaborating with two companies to determine if these devices can transport substantial construction materials like cement and manhole covers. Beyond construction, potential uses include clearing drains and cleaning building facades. This initiative aims to mitigate safety risks and reduce maintenance expenses for public projects and facilities.
