Northern Metropolis needs early success stories to draw investors, John Lee says

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu stated that the Northern Metropolis, a 30,000-hectare megaproject near the mainland border, will employ a multi-focused strategy. This strategy aims to advance technology, industry, and education, while addressing Hong Kong's talent attraction challenges. Lee emphasized the necessity of early success stories to draw mainland Chinese and international investors to the development. The Hetao cooperation zone is identified as the initial area expected to achieve this success. The Northern Metropolis is intended to function as a driver of technological and economic growth, and also as a housing center.
