Hong Kong teachers to undergo 30-hour digital training amid AI push in schools

Hong Kong authorities are implementing a new digital education initiative to enhance technology use in schools. Starting soon, teachers will be mandated to complete a minimum of 30 hours of digital education training every three years. Primary and secondary schools must integrate digital elements into their annual development plans. Additionally, an innovation and technology curriculum will be introduced for students. This comprehensive plan, outlined in the Blueprint for Digital Education Development in Primary and Secondary Schools released by the Curriculum Development Council, aims to further incorporate artificial intelligence into the education sector.
