Towngas customers face higher bills as tariffs set to rise 4.4% in August

Towngas, Hong Kong's largest piped-gas provider, will increase its tariffs by 4.4% starting in August due to rising operating costs. The company stated that this adjustment is necessary because of increased expenses over the past two years, including higher labor costs within the gas industry. Towngas has committed to maintaining current tariffs for the subsequent two years following this August increase. The company estimates that approximately half of its commercial and industrial customers will see a monthly increase of no more than HK$320. For residential customers, 65% are expected to experience an additional charge of at most HK$10 per month.
