As the US dismantles its global hegemony, will China step up?

A Chinese foreign policy expert, Da Wei, argues that as the United States dismantles its global hegemony, China lacks both the will and the capacity to replace it. Da, director of Tsinghua University’s Centre for International Security and Strategy, stated this at a public seminar at Renmin University of China in Beijing on Wednesday. He believes the end of America's global institutional hegemony is unlikely to be reversed. Instead, Beijing is pursuing a different approach based on sovereign equality and multilateralism, rather than seeking global dominance.
