China unveils industrial internet road map, with AI, 5G at core of manufacturing upgrade

China has unveiled a road map to accelerate its industrial internet development, aiming to integrate advanced technologies into manufacturing and enhance industrial competitiveness. Issued on Tuesday by eight government agencies, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the plan sets targets for expanding industry-specific 5G networks and data systems. Key objectives include building 50,000 industrial 5G private networks by 2030 and establishing a robust industrial data mechanism.
