Hong Kong aurora-chasing tour group rescues 2 divers lost at sea in Australia

A Hong Kong tour group on an aurora-chasing boat ride near an island in Australia saved two fellow city residents who went missing while scuba diving, in a dramatic rescue the agency said “shone light on the brilliance of humanity”.WWPKG Tours detailed the rescue on Sunday in a Facebook post and commended tour group leader Foxman Hui and his members who were on a trip in Tasmania.They were out at sea on a Southern Lights sightseeing cruise in Hobart on Friday, when they came across two Hong Kong divers who had been swept away by ocean currents.“The tour leader on board used a smartphone camera to search the sea surface, ultimately locating and rescuing the two individuals around 500 metres [1,640 feet] away from their original planned surfacing point,” the agency wrote, posting photos of the divers.“He showed exceptional alertness and professionalism in a split second, resourcefully using a smartphone camera to search the pitch-black sea and successfully rescuing two divers swept away by the currents.”The agency said the tour members also embodied a true spirit of mutual care and support.“This heroic act not only saved two fellow Hong Kong residents but also shone a light on the brilliance of humanity, making us incredibly proud!”
