IOC ending neutral status vetting for Russian athletes ahead of 2028 LA Olympics

The terms of that suspension — imposed when the Russian Olympic body incorporated regional sports councils from occupied regions of Ukraine — no longer applied, the IOC said.Just 32 athletes from Russia and Belarus competed at the Paris-olympics" class="entity-link entity-event" data-entity-id="160588" data-entity-type="event">2024 Paris Olympics as approved neutrals, and combined to win five medals. That decision will come “at an appropriate time,” it said.
