Lions dead, zebras on the run as floodwaters devastate zoo in southern China

Guigang Zoo in China's Guangxi region has lost over 100 animals due to severe flooding. The zoo reported on Wednesday that damaged cages led to the escape or death of various animals, including two zebras, 30 peacocks, two ostriches, nine deer, and multiple parrots. In response, the zoo has appealed to the public via social media for assistance in locating the animals, emphasizing the need for tips to ensure both public and animal safety. They also cautioned that some animals, such as ostriches and raccoons, may pose a threat if approached.
