‘Extremely hot’ weather in Hong Kong over the weekend as Typhoon Bavi subsides

Hong Kong is expected to experience "extremely hot" weather this weekend, accompanied by occasional showers. This forecast is due to Typhoon Bavi's movement across the seas east of Taiwan towards Guangdong. As the typhoon passes Taiwan and heads towards northern Fujian and southern Zhejiang, its outer airstream will subside, leading to mainly fine and very hot conditions in Guangdong from Friday to Sunday. The Hong Kong Observatory stated that high temperatures might also trigger showers. Additionally, a fresh to strong southwest monsoon will make the coast of Guangdong windier over the weekend. Unstable offshore weather has already caused disruptions to several flights.
