Runner gored in the face at Spain’s San Fermin bull run festival

During a chaotic bull run at Spain's San Fermin festival on Saturday in Pamplona, one runner was gored in the face. The event involved six bulls and accompanying steers charging through packed crowds on a narrow street course. The animals knocked runners down, and stumbling participants caused several pile-ups during the approximately two-and-a-half-minute run. This run leads to the bull ring, where bullfighters are scheduled to kill the bulls later that day. Many other runners were fortunate to avoid serious injury.
