Nearly 170 mainland Chinese motorists expected in Hong Kong under expanded scheme

Nearly 170 mainland Chinese motorists are anticipated to enter Hong Kong on Saturday as part of an expanded cross-border travel initiative. The Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles scheme has been extended to include five additional cities: Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Zhaoqing. This expansion doubles the daily quota for urban trips to 200. Consequently, a total of nine mainland cities within the Greater Bay Area are now eligible for the scheme, encompassing the original four cities of Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, and Zhongshan. In anticipation of these visitors, Hong Kong hotels are preparing special packages for accommodation, dining, shopping, and parking.
