Japan, UK, Italy eye Japanese factory to build fighter jet

Japan, Britain, and Italy are collaborating on a next-generation fighter jet under the Global Combat Air Program. Sources indicate that a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries factory in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, will serve as the Japanese development and assembly center for the project. This Japanese center is expected to be established by the end of the year, with British engineers already involved in the aircraft's design at the Komaki South plant. The three nations are currently discussing their respective roles in the jet's design and manufacturing, with Britain establishing its center in Warton and Italy in Turin.
