China turns to public for help in deadly dam collapse probe after Typhoon Maysak

Chinese authorities are seeking public assistance in their investigation into the collapse of the Liulan Reservoir dam in Hengzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The dam failed on July 6, resulting in significant casualties. State media reported that the public can submit information regarding the collapse through a dedicated telephone hotline. Additionally, individuals have until August 15 to send submissions to an investigation and assessment work group from the State Council, China's central government. This appeal for public input is part of the ongoing probe into the dam's failure.
