Hong Kong drives trials for breast cancer, eye treatments across Greater Bay Area

Hong Kong is spearheading clinical trials for two US-developed treatments in the Greater Bay Area. These trials will focus on metastatic breast cancer and macular degeneration, a degenerative eye disease. The collaboration involves Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Health Hope Pharma, a pharmaceutical start-up founded by former lawmaker Dr. Dennis Lam Shun-chiu. An agreement was formalized on Tuesday through a memorandum of understanding signed by Dr. Lam, the Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI), and its Shenzhen counterpart. This initiative aims to leverage the Greater Bay Area's large population for these crucial clinical studies.
