4 months’ jail for security guard who dumped building resident’s cat in rubbish bin

A Hong Kong security guard, Chou Wing-lok, has been sentenced to four months in prison for cruelty to animals. On August 6 last year, Chou, then a security guard at a residential building in Ngau Tau Kok, tied up a resident's missing cat in a plastic bag and dumped it in a rubbish bin. The magistrate stated that Chou's actions likely resulted in the cat's death at a landfill site. The incident began when a resident reported a stray cat entering their flat. Kwun Tong Court handed down the sentence on Thursday.
