Super Typhoon Dolphin set to bring very hot weather to Hong Kong next week

A super typhoon named after Hong Kong’s Chinese white dolphins is set to bring very hot weather to the city in the latter part of next week, according to the Observatory.Kong Yu-chau, a senior scientific officer with the forecaster, said on Friday that Super Typhoon Dolphin, which is currently over the western North Pacific, was expected to move towards the waters south of Japan in the next few days.But he added that its subsequent trajectory remained uncertain.“We expect it will have a higher chance of moving towards the vicinity of the China-sea" class="entity-link entity-location" data-entity-id="19685" data-entity-type="location">East China Sea,” he said.“Under the influence of the Dolphin’s outer subsiding airstream, the weather will be very hot over the coast of southeastern China in the latter part of next week.”Kong said it was too early to tell whether Dolphin would lead to rainstorms in the city, given the uncertainty surrounding the super typhoon’s future movements.
