Candidates taking DSE exams on mainland face 220% entry fee jump to HK$8,000

Starting next year, students taking Hong Kong's university entrance exams on the mainland will see a significant increase in their registration fees. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) announced that the fee will jump to HK$8,000, a 220% rise from the current HK$2,500, as a pilot scheme concludes. This substantial increase for mainland candidates is attributed to the end of the three-year pilot program. In contrast, local students will experience a more modest 4% increase per subject, with fees ranging from HK$540 to HK$808. The HKEAA made these fee adjustments for various exams public on Friday.
