‘It has been overwhelming’: Sudanese friends complete 900-mile UK walk

Giel Malual and John Kuei, Sudanese friends, completed a 900-mile walk from Dungeness, Kent to John o’Groats, Scotland, over 33 days to raise money for a school for displaced Sudanese children. Starting on December 19th, they braved cold weather to highlight the struggles faced by Sudanese refugees. The pair aimed to raise £35,000 but have collected almost £90,000 due to overwhelming support from the British public, including offers of accommodation, meals, and donations. Supported by Asylum Speakers, Malual and Kuei hope to build multiple schools with the funds raised. They were surprised and encouraged by the positive reception they received throughout their journey.
